I set up The Family Solicitor.com in May 2000 in order to enable me to provide the sort of individual and innovative service that it is difficult to deliver within the structure of a conventional legal firm. I am someone with a well developed sense of individuality, and I like to do things in my own way. For me, people are the most important thing, and the Law is secondary. By that I mean that good legal advice should consider a clients broader needs and aspirations within the context of the legal problems they face. Such problems are therefore multi-faceted, and inter-relate with the broader emotional and practical aspects of each clients circumstances. It's not enough to know the law - you also have to get to know the client. Communication is what it's all about.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 1986, and have a broad range of legal experience. For many years I divided my time between Criminal Law and Family Law, but since 1996 I have specialised exclusively in Family Law work (with particular emphasis on mid/high net worth Ancillary Relief). It'll have to do until I can find myself a proper job!
